Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year! We have had an amazing start to 2015!! Since we were all sick the week of Christmas, we decided to try to make up for it with a fantastic New Years week! It started by visiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the lights. They were beautiful! I would love to make this part of our annual holiday traditions!

A rare photo of mommy with her boys! :)

The lights were really spectacular. The boys were not as impressed as mommy was and couldn't wait to get to the Smores station!

One more picture for mommy :)

Smores time!

This is the first time Jackson has actually eaten a smores he made. He loved it! Beckett just wanted to eat the chocolate.

My kids LOVE music! These globes were lighting to different Christmas music. The boys just wanted to sit on the bench and listen.

Next stop was the snowman making station! They had magnetic gingerbread and snowman that the kids could decorate. Jackson, of course, had to decorate each one and pose with his finished product.

Such a ham!

Beckett's goal was to see how many magnets he could possibly fit on one gingerbread.

New Year's Eve! We had a special New Year's Eve with our boys this year. We went to Target and each boy was able to pick out their own candy and a movie. Jackson picked junior mints and Beckett picked Skittles. We then picked up some sparkling grapejuice, fireworks, and sparklers. We went home to a snow crab leg dinner and tried to stay awake until midnight! Jackson probably would have made it to midnight but we threw in the towel at 11pm. I was impressed they made it that long!

Beckett still HATES fireworks! He ran into the house screaming!!

Sparkler time! Jackson had a blast writing his name and running around the yard.

Beckett wasn't so sure about the sparklers at first, but he eventually tried it and loved them!

Cheers to 2015 from these 2 caped crusaders!

Next we headed to the Ritz at Lake Oconee for a little getaway. Jackson loves staying in hotels. He told us he wished he could live there. We were on the club level so we had access to the club room which had food all the time. The boys loved going in there and getting different things. Jackson is turning into a little grown up. We were alll sitting in the hottub and he wanted a snack. He walked himself to the little restaurant, ordered himself crudite with hummus, and charged it to our room. He was so excited when the watier came out and brought it to him in the hot tub. Hummus has become his new favorite thing. We are now packing vegetables and hummus for his lunch!

The main reason we decided to go was for the ice skating! Jackson did awesome!!

Beckett was so excited to ice skate after roller skating at his party. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything for the little ones to stabilize with, so he had to use daddy. He didn't enjoy it as much as the roller skating but all in all it was a success!

What did doesn't love a brownie covered in chocolate, M&Ms, chocolate pretzels, and ice scream in bed. Jackson actually called up the room service and ordered it himself. Mr. Independant!

The other great part of the Ritz is that there is a hot tub and the outdoor pool is heated! Swimming outside in January is priceless!

Not a bad view!

The boys also had their first fishing experience. They were so excited but quickly became a little disapointed when we didn't get a single nibble :(. Next time we are going to go back in the spring when we can take the boat out and really give them a fishing experience!

Beckett's turn! We have had such a great start to 2015. The kids started back to school yesterday and Jackson was super excited to see his friends. Jackson also had his first sleepover at his friend Jack's house and did great! Jackson is doing great in basketball and started soccer yesterday. He also starts chess this week and he can't wait. We hope everyone had a great New Year and hope 2015 is the best year yet for everyone!
