School's Out For Summer!!

School's out for summer and I can't believe it! We have finished our first year at Walker and couldn't be happier with our decision to send Jackson there. He has learned so much and has made some really great friends. Jackson's last day of school was on a Thursday, which is typically a work day for me. However, Greg has Thursday afternoons off, so I decided to take the day off and go to his party in the morning and then we headed to Kiawah that afternoon for our first beach trip of the summer! Jackson was very excited that I didn't go to work and was able to celebrate his last day with him. I really didn't realize how emotional I would get, but seeing how much he has grown this past year and knowing next year he is in school all day, really affected me. Jackson is certainly ready for Kindergarten. He knows over 50 site words and is a whiz at math. Jackson brought home a book that showed his progress over the past year and I cannot believe how much his writing and coloring has improved!! Kindergarten here we come! Jackson you have done such a great job this year and we are so proud of all your hardwork and accomplishments!!

Beckett also finished his first year in the Ones class and is moving on to the Twos class at our church. He also had a great year! At the beginning of the year he would only say single words and no he will speak in full sentences. He can count to 9 and has started to learn his colors. I decided to only send Beckett 2 days a week again next year becasue it just made more sense with more work schedule that way. Great job on your first year Beckett!!

Jackson's end of the year party was all beach themed. They set the party up into 6 stations. Each station had a little craft and of course a jumpy!!

A picture of Jackson holding a picture of Jackson ;)

Jackson and Colin. Jackson has made several sweet friends this year but Colin is still top of the list!

Jackson and Mrs. Mitchell. Such a wonderful teacher! Unfortunately, Mrs. Reddick, had to leave the party in a hurry so we didn't get to get a picture of her. These two teachers really are a great team and it is sad to think we won't have them next year. However, I am certain, we will love our Kindergarten teachers just as much!!

Saying goodbye to Dr. Doss. Dr. Doss has been the preschool director for 20 some years and this is her last year. Even though we only knew here for a year, you can see the sweet bond Jackson had with her. She was such a loving director and will certainly be missed!
Jackson, Dr. Doss, and Miller. This is the famous Miller. Jackson has told me on several occasions that Miller is his girlfriend and he really wanted to marry her. This was a funny conversation between us. Jackson, "I really want to marry Miller and she wants to marry me." Me, "When are you going to get married?" Jackson, "When we are grown ups!" Me, "How old are  you when you are a grown up?" Jackson, "65".

This kid loves to play with water! He puts everything in the water! If you are at my house and have a glass water and walk away, you better check it before you take a drink because Beckett has probably put a car or some other toy in it.

Colin's 5th birthday party! Colin had a gymnastics party and the boys had so much fun!
We were so excited to get to go see Mary perform in her recital! Funny story though. Our weekends are packed and I always put everything on my phone calendar. In my mind, Colin's birthday party and Mary's recital were the same day, so Greg took Beckett to the recital and I took Jackson to the party. We pull up to the party and nobody was there. I thought, "Wow! I am on it! We are early!!" Oh no.......the party was on Sunday and not Saturday!! We jumped back in he car and headed to Mary's recital just in time to see her dance! That is why Jackson is dressed for gymnastics. :)

Pottery time! This year for Noni's birthday, we decided to make her a platter with the boys hands. It turned out super cute!! While we were there, the boys were also able to paint a little figurine. Jackson chose a Triceratops.

Beckett chose a penguin.

This boy has been begging to play Lacrosse, so daddy bought him the gear. He is actually pretty good at it and is able to catch and throw.
He shoots...he scores!! I am so excited that summer is here! Jackson was so funny! He was super excited that summer was here and thought that meant Mommy and Daddy didn't have to go to work all summer either. I wish buddy!! We are looking forward to staying up a little later, lazy mornings, swimming, beach trips, Chicago trip, and lots of time with friends. It is going to be a great summer!!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day! Mother's day started with my boys surprising me with breakfast in bed. Jackson was very excited to watch me eat and then give me my presents. Jackson and Beckett picked out a new dress for me, some beautiful flowers, and Jackson painted me a beautiful picture of a flower. After opening my presents, we headed to church and then had a delicious lunch at Taqueria Tsunami. After lunch, we stopped at the Farmer's Market for some popsicles and then it was bloody mary and pool time. Mommy got to relax and watch the boys swim. We then had some friends over to swim and ate pizza. It was a full day of mommy not having to feed anyone but herself! It was fantastic!!

Beckett chose a chocolate popsicle.....this boy loves chocolate!

We then threw some pennies in the fountain. More please!

God sure did know what he was doing when he blessed me with these 2 sweet boys. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day with all my boys!

Jackson had punk day at school. This was the best we could do :)

Swimming, swimming and more swimming! It is not even summer yet and we are in the pool every single day!! If you would have asked me last year if I wanted a pool, I would have said no. Now, I couldn't imagine not having one. The kids love it and Jackson is really becoming a strong swimmer. Beckett is really showing interest in swimming, so we are going to start some private lessons for both of them in the pool.

My little artist. Jackson has really taken interest in drawing and coloring this year. It is certainly nothing I have done, so I have to give the credit to his wonderful art teacher at school. She comes up with such great projects and Jackson's skills have improved immensely!:)

We had our last tball game this past weekend. I can't believe this year is almost over! Jackson had a great last game and can't wait to go baseball camp this summer. This was our last season of tball and we are now onto little league!

Jackson's favorite part of the season...the trophy :)

We also had our last soccer game. Initially I was a little worried about playing Jackson up an age, but his last game he proved that he could hang with the big boys. All of  sudden, he became much more aggressive and went after the ball. This was our first season with southern soccer academy and we had such a great time! We will certainly do it again next year!

Jackson getting his trophy from his daddy :)

Jackson and Coach Greg. I really can't believe that we only have 1 more week of school left! It is sad to think my little boy will be going to full day Kindergarten next year but it is also exciting. I will certainly miss my afternoons with him, so I am going to take advantage of every moment with him this summer!!

Fox, Fiesta Friday, and Field Day!

Special night with mommy and daddy! Does he look a little excited? We took Jackson on a special night to see the Lion King at the Fox! We started our night with dinner and Figo where Jackson had his favorite meal, butter noodles. We then headed to the Fox for Jackson's first play. He was super excited. The play didn't start until 8:00pm and was a lot longer than I had anticipated. It was 2 1/2 hours, which meant we didn't get home until 11:30!! I didn't think Jackson was going to be able to stay awake but he did and loved it!! He sat the entire time and was mezmerized by the costumes and music. It really was a fantastic show. All was well until it came to the part when Simba's daddy dies. My poor sweet boy cried out "Noooo!" when it happened and started crying. It was just so real to him and I felt really bad for him. It really is sweet though to see him have such empathy for other people. He calmed down and at the end, when Simba and Scar are fighting, he was at the edge of his seat and growled. It was really sweet to see him get so into it!

I wanted to get a picture with the Fox sign and the Lion King sign at the same time. I asked Jackson to stand near the pole and smile and this is what I got :)

So excited! Since I am the one always taking the pictures, I have very few pics with my handsome boy. Such a fun night!

This past week Jackson had his school book fair, and it was Fiesta Friday! Before the book fair, Jackson was super excited and had all the books he wanted picked out. He had 12 books circled, but we were able to cut that number in half. He even picked out a special book for his brother :) Beckett got to go with me and fit right in!

After we bought our books, we headed into the library to make maracas!

Next it was chips and salsa and story time with Mrs. Reddick!

Such a sweet class! I can't believe this year is coming to an end!

Last Friday was field day! I remember field days growing up and they were always my favorite day of the year! I think Jackson is going to be just like mommy when it comes to this day!

First on the agenda, skateboard relay races!

Jackson and his sweet friend William.

Don't let the balloon touch the ground!

Jackson and Thomas. I have to thank James for these pictures because I missed the first half of field day. I am hosting a boot camp at our house on Fridays, so I was a little late. When I got there, Jackson said, "Mommy, next field day can you be on time?"

Sack races! Jackson was a champ at this! He flew past everyone and didn't fall once!

Look at that smile. He had so much fun!

Getting ready for girls vs boys! Jackson was so ready!!

I really can't believe we are almost done with our last year of PK. Jackson has had the best year and has made such sweet friends. I hope some of them will be in the same Kindergarten class!!

Field day ended with a huge obstacle course. Jackson again was running past people left and right. I think a little bit of his competitive side peeked out during field day! After all the activities, the kids had a picnic lunch of hotdogs. What a great day!

Beckett, of course, had to get right into the action. He really does think he is just one of the boys!
