PGA 2012

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Kiawah! For Greg's birthday, I bought him 4 tickets to the PGA, which was at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. We had tickets for Friday and Sunday, so we headed down on Wednesday night and met Greg's best friend from high school Andrew and Betsy. We had the best time! I have to say that Noni went above and beyond her call of duty!! She took care of the boys and I had a relaxing 4 days and enjoyed the tournament. Beckett actually slept in her room and for whatever reason, Jackson decided to sleep in every day so every morning, when Jackson and I would roll out of bed around 8:30, Noni had already fed Beckett his bottle, breakfast, and had put him down for his morning nap. I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep in that late!!! She also took care of the boys while we went to the tournament and while we enjoyed an evening in downtown Charleston. She really is the best Noni ever!!! The boys had so much fun with Noni and Grandday and can't wait to the next trip. Thank you Noni and Grandaddy for an amazing trip!

Greg and Andrew. They have been best friends for a long time!!! This was my first major tournament and it could not have been more perfect! It was a little windy the first day, but the last day, we had a perfect spot on the 17th hole and saw a lot of famous golfers. Tiger Woods actually walked right past us!! After McIlroy finished on 17, we headed to the 18th hole to rush the green. Andrew and I sprinted and made it to the front row! We got so close to them!!! We really had the best time!!

At the end of the tournament, we happened to walk past the kid who was carrying the leader board and he was kind enough to pose for a picture with us!
What an amazing tournament and we couldn't have spent it with 2 better friends! It was definately a trip we will always remember and cherish!!! Thanks again Noni and Granddaddy for being the best hosts ever!!
The days that we weren't at the tournament, we spent at the beach and pool. Jackson loves to build sand castles.
He loved to try to pile the sand up as high as possible!
He also loves to play beach ball. Daddy will throw the ball into the waves and Jackson tries to stop it before it reaches the shore.
 Checking out the waves.
Best Noni ever!! Jackson and Beckett are so lucky to have such a loving Noni! They love her so much!!!
Getting the bikes ready to caravan to the beach. Jackson did great again riding his bike all the way to the beach.
Beach caravan!
Jackson also loves to play football! We actually signed him up for flag football at our church and he starts the end of September.  This will be his first introduction to organized sports, so we will see how it goes!
When we went downtown, we stopped at the Charleston candy shop to pick up a little treat for Jackson  I found some rock candy, which I used to love as a child. It seems Jackson loved it as much as I did!
 Sandcastle building with daddy.
One of Noni's many projects to keep Jackson entertained. A Super J cape for my little superhero!
Super J! Thanks again Noni and Grandaddy for an amazing trip! We can't wait for the next visit.  We love you!!

Summer is Winding Down!

I cannot believe it is August and summer is quickly coming to an end! I feel like we have had such a busy summer with traveling that we really haven't had a week to just relax a little bit. Well, this week was the week! All summer I have been wanting to check out the Roswell splash park, so this week we did with a bunch of Jackson's friends. They had the best time! They ran around in the water, had a picnic, and played on two playgrounds. The best is only $1!! A great place to beat the heat!
Jackson loved running through all the water tunnels.
We took a break for a little picnic lunch!
Back in the water!
For whatever reason, Jackson did not want to take his hood off. He is so funny sometimes!
All that running and a crash is boud to occur. Well of course it did. Jackson was running and a mother was trying to find her child and not really paying attention to wear she was going and clipped Jackson as he ran by. He literally flipped in the air and landed on the concrete. He got up screaming! I really thought we were going to have a lot of blood and possibly a missing tooth, but nothing! A mintue later, he was up and running again!
I did have to keep reminding Jackson not to drink the water!!
Time for a little snack break!
Beckett even got into the water fun! He just sat there and splashed and splashed!!
Good morning! Beckett is really growing up fast! He is sitting up like a big boy and wants to eat everything he can get his hands on! His favorites right  now are black beans and peas.
Jackson is so funny. Who knew a $1 toy could be so much fun! Jackson found these capsules that you put in hot water and out come vehicle shaped sponges. He would mix them and start screaming "They are blooming!" He carries them around everywhere!!

Poor Beckett...Jackson loves to put his sponges on his head :)

Jackson has also really gotten into Super Heros. He loves to run around the house with a flag tied around his neck like a cape, a hanger hung on the back of his shirt as his weapon, and of course the above super hero pose.
Friday, we had a playdate with Sarah, Sam, and Nathaniel to go swimming. Unfortunately, it started raining. That did not deter the kids! They quickly grabbed their umbrellas and were running around. They kept talking about their mission and huddling together. It was so funny! Love boys and their imaginations!!
 Huddling on their mission.

Beckett was quite intrigued.
Beckett had some firsts this weekend! Since this was the first Saturday morning we have been together just us in a long time, we took a jog to the farmer's market. This was Beckett's first jog in the Bob without the carseat. He did great! He also is now joining us in a high chair at restaurants. He is getting a much better view of this crazy world!!
We ended the weekend with a visit from Greg's high school friend and his two boys. They were on their way to family camp and decided to break the trip up and stay with us Saturday night. The boys had the best time together! They played at the park and ran around outside just being boys. Jackson was really tuckered and ended up snoozing most of the afternoon!!

Beckett's special day!

What a special day for my little boy! Sweet Beckett was baptized on July 22. We feel so blessed to have been able to share this special moment with family friends. Joe, Jonathon, Pebo, and Grandaddy were able to make the trip from Memphis and Noni and Grandaddy came in from Kiawah. Beckett did absolutely beautifully during the baptism! As soon as Dr. Mathews sprinkled the water on his forehead, he lifted his arms up and down. Dr. Mathews said he was the first baby that has ever cheered for his own baptism! After the baptism, they carried him down the aisle so the congregation could see him. He just looked back and forth and smiled at all the people. It was so sweet! After the baptism, we celebrated with family and friends with brunch at the country club. It was our first event that we had there and could not have been more perfect! The food was delicious, we had our own private room, and we even had a balcony where the kids could run off some energy! The best part was I didn't have to clean up afterwards!
All the kids admiring Beckett :)
Family photo with Dr. Mathews. Jackson was baptized in the same outfit and at a similar age, so I tried to get some of the same poses.
For whatever reason, Jackson was not in the mood to take any pictures. I love how Beckett is looking down on his sulking brother.
Family photo! Again, Jackson was not having it!
My sweet boy!
Thank you Joe and Jonathon for making the trip to celebrate my special day!
I had to get a picture of Beckett on the lawn at the church because I have the same photo of Jackson after his baptism.
 Again attempting a family shot......
The one item I contributed to the baptism. Beckett's cross shaped monogrammed sugar cookies.
Of course, we had to have the same cross cake that Jackson had! No favorites in this family ;)!!
Thank goodness I made those cookies because they were gone before brunch even started!
Beckett and Noni.
 One proud momma!
After consuming a pound of sugar, the kids went outside to burn off some energy!
Somebody liked the cake!
So fast and HOT!
Jonathon is always a huge hit with kiddos!
Miraculously we were able to keep all the kiddos still for one large group shot! Thank you Anna, Jonathon, Sarah, Sam, and Nathaniel McMurry; Greg, Christine, Jack and Henry Foster; Ryan, Nichole, Kylie, Mollie Ryan, and Lanie Chavers; Garrett, Carly, Mary Reese, and Hutson Harvey; Peebo and Granddaddy; Noni and Grandaddy; Joe and Jonathon Winterrowd; Brad, Kiera, Mary, and James Nesmith; Andrew, Angie, Payton, and Aidan Konop for making Beckett's special day even more special! Love you all!!
