Getting back into the swing of things!

August has been a busy, but fun month. Jackson is getting the swing of the increased level of responsibility of 3rd grade and Beckett is loving Pre-K with Mrs. Reddick. I have to brag on Beckett a little bit. I have had 3 different teachers come up to me to tell me how proud they are of Beckett's behavior. They said he has done a great job listening and following directions even when others around him may not be making the best choice. Yay Beckett!! Both boys are in several after school activities. Jackson is currently in baseball, football, lacrosse, soccer, running club, and chess. Seems like a lot but somehow we manage! Beckett is in running club, baseball, football starts in October, brainy builders and piano. We hosted Jackson's new baseball team, SW Sox, for a pool party. Everyone seemed great and I think he is going to have a great year with these boys!
We had Jackson's meet and greet and this is the little note he left us.
His 3rd grade drawing of himself. I love his braces!
 Too funny!

We hosted the annual back to school pool party. Beckett was super excited about the water slide!

We were all super excited about the eclipse! Even though we weren't in the path of totality, we were excited to see 98% coverage.  This is the shirt Jackson's class made for the viewing.
They weren't going to let the preschoolers out to view the eclipse, so I picked up Beckett early to check it out. Here he is with his glasses taking a peek.
His buddies and him waiting for the event!
 Jackson's class.
Even though we didn't see a total eclipse, it was still pretty cool. It didn't get very dark, which I was surprised by since the sun was 98% blocked. You could feel a drop in temperature though.
The leaves also made these crazy shadows, which was pretty cool. I am hoping we can travel to the path of totality for the next one in 7 years!
Look who's still alive and thriving!
The boys started running club this year, which they both love! It meets at 7:15 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The goal is run 100 miles in the year.
Preschool wasn't initially involved, but since Beckett and a couple of his buddies have been running, they decided to let them join in!
As the kids run around, they grab popsicle sticks to keep track of their laps. Beckett ran 14 laps which is a little over 1 mile! Jackson ran 27, which is a little over 2 miles!
3rd graders all received their first Bibles at church!!
 My sweet, handsome boys.
Jackson and Bennett are on the same travel ball team this year, which means these 2 get to spend a lot of time together again!!
We made our annual trip to the beach for Labor Day and were so excited to have the McDonald's join us!
 2 peas on a pod!
 Love this girl!
Exhausted after the first day of swimming!
The kids surfed and boogie boarded.
Too fun!
Ava and Beckett trying to catch a big one on their surfboard.
Beckett still enjoyed his time with his toys.
 Kids made a "hot tub"
Non and Granddaddy watched all the kids so we could have an adult night. We had drinks at the Ocean Course, Sanctuary and then dinner at the new sushi restaurant.
 Couple shot!
Beckett got a new boat which is a little bigger than his other boat. Bonus was that this came with oars!
The kids loved riding the waves in the boat.
We went to the marina for dinner one night. There was live music and beautiful weather!
 Little surfer!

Here's my little slugger. Beckett is not so sure about baseball. He likes to bat but gets easily distracted in the field. We will see but I'm not sure he loves the sport like his brother does!
