Happy Thanksgiving from these turkeys!! This year was a little different for us. Greg was on call so we couldn't travel, Noni and Granddaddy had to stay in South Carolina, and Brad and Kiera were in Kentucky. We were so blessed to be invited to spend the holiday with the Konop family. We are really are lucky to have such great friends that are more like family. I attempted several times to try to get a cute pic of the boys......
This was really funny. Angie bought these gifts for each of the kids. They are prewrapped and you don't know what is inside of them. Angie assummed they were for children. The kids were so excited and couldn't wait until dinner to open them, so we let them open them early. They were a little disappointed! The gifts included a screwdriver set, wine bottle opener and mini card games. It was hysterical to see their faces!!
We had 2 turkeys. Baked and fried. This was another funny story. Dan, Angie's brother in law, fried the second turkey. He brought it in and started carving. It was like the scene from the Griswald's Christmas. He went to cut and there was nothing. No meat! He looked at his wife and said, "You bought a turkey with no meat!" Luckily, Andrew took a closer look and realized Dan was trying to carve the back instead of the breast !!
Family shot! We hope everyone had as wonderful as a Thanksgiving as we did. We have so much to be thankful for this year. I have a loving husband, 2 beautiful, healthy boys, jobs we love etc. I could go on forever! I never really appreciated this holiday until I have gotten older. It is just a nice time to get together with loved ones and just relax. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but it is nice to not have all the pressure that Christmas can bring.
The next day, it was time to start gearing up for Christmas. We started with the boys making their Christmas lists.
We have 3 Christmas trees this year. We decided we would get 2 from Home Depot and the last one we wanted to cut down ourselves. Here are the boys picking out a winner!
Sleepy Hallow Farms! This is a great Christmas tree farm that is only about 30 minutes from our house. They don't have the traditional Frasier Furs but they are still beautful. We had the best time and will make this an annual tradition!
They had this adorable scene that would make a great Christmas card. We could never get a pic with all thekids cooperating at the same time though.
Loaded up and ready to decorate! Such a fun trip! Afterwards we headed to downtown Powders Springs and had a relaxing lunch. A great way to spend a beautiful day! We are in full birthday countdown mode here! I can't believe Jackson will be 6 and Beckett will be 3. Slow down time!!
