Fun with Friends!

It's hard to believe that summer is already halfway over! Wednesday is the main day I have with the boys, so I try to do something extra special with them each Wednesday. This week we decided to head to the zoo with our friends Jack and Henry. We have not been to the zoo in a long time, and now that they have a new splash pad, we thought it was a perfect time to see some animals and cool off! Beckett was so excited when I told him we were going to the zoo and couldn't wait to see all the animals!

Feeding the birds is always a favorite! Beckett was squealing with laughter every time a bird ate from his stick!

My 2 silly Meerkats!

Boys! They love to climb! Since they were all climbing on top of a rock, I decided to make it a photo opportunity :)

We were super excited to see that we could feed the giraffes! Beckett was so funny trying to feed them. He would try to put in their mouth and would drop it. When he would bend down to repick up the lettuce, all the giraffes would move toward him and he would drop it again. He eventually got it into the target.

Jackson quickly placed the lettuce on its long purple tongue and removed his hand!

This picture cracked me up because they are all looking down int he same direction as the gorilla statue as if he is showing them something.

Splash pad!

This is the first time Beckett has been to a splashpad, and let me tell you, he was in heavan! This boy loves water!!

Having a blast!

Do you think he is enjoying himself?

No trip to the zoo would be complete without a train ride! On the train ride, the boys heard that you can spend the night at the zoo. They were all very excited about this, so I think we are going to try this in the early fall when it is not too hot!

This weekend was also the Legofest in Atlanta. I bought the tickets for this event in February and we didn't realize that Daddy was on call, so Jackson was able to pick a buddy to go with us. Thomas loves legos just as much as Jackson does, so this was right up his alley! The kids had the best time! "Everything is Awesome!"

They had all sorts of models made entirely out of Legos. It was really quite impressive! Beckett, of course, loves anything with swords, so I couldn't get him away from the light saber for a photo :)

R2D2

The massive brick pile! The boys must have stayed there for 30 minutes building different things. I love watching them be creative and use their imagination to build!!

Race cars! This was by far Beckett's favorite part. We made him a little car and he just kept racing it down the track.

Watching it go! We had to pull him away from this part so we could see the rest of the festival.

Jackson with his car! Each time his car made it to the end of the ramp, he would yell "Bulls eye!"

Indiana Jones!

The boys second favorite area was the Lego Hero Factory. They each built their own hero and there was a model city for them to rescue and defeat the bad guys. Also, right up Beckett's alley!

Shark!

Showing me their muscle bumps

And finally, Darth Vader. Such a fun week! We are looking forward to heading to Noni's beach this week to ring in the 4th of July! We can't wait!!

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's day to the best husband and daddy anyone could ever ask for! These boys love their daddy more than anything else in the world! Jackson was super excited for Father's day to come around and thought of a great present for daddy all by himself. It was so cute and thoughtful that I vetoed what I wanted to get him and we went with Jackson's idea. Jackson said that daddy's tool box was all grey and rusty, so he needed a shiny new one. He also said that since Daddy broke his favorite coffee mug, we should get him so new ones. Let's be honest, most of the time kids are all about me and what can I have, so it was so sweet to me that Jackson had actually been thinking about what to get his daddy and came up with 2 great ideas!
Jackson really wanted to go to the country club to go off the diving board, so after church we headed to the club for swimming and lunch.

Jackson taking a plunge!

My once cautious Beckett has left the building!! Beckett has always been super cautious and wouldn't climb or jump off anything. Well, that Beckett has gone and I now have another monkey! We had our first scare with Beckett this week. I host a boot camp at my house for some girlfriends. It's really great and all the kids play while the mommies sweat! Well, after bootcamp, we started swim lessons for Jackson, Aidan, and Jack. Billy, Angie, and Christine were at the pool getting the older boys ready for their lesson, and I went inside to get my camera. As soon as I walked out, I saw that the gate to the pool was open and quickly surveyed the area for Beckett. As I looked in the deep end, guess who was on the diving board with no float! He jumped in and I screamed his name, threw my camera to the ground, and ran for the pool. Everyone heard my panic and Billy dove into the water after him. To my surprise, after 1 lesson, Beckett popped up and swam right to the stair. Billy wasn't sure he would have made it the entire way, but at least he went right into his swim position and didn't sink to the bottom. My heart was racing a mile a minute and I had to sit down. I have since gone through a thousand what if scenarios but thank God there was a little angel following my sweet boy that day! Needless to say, we have focused not only swimming with Beckett but also survival swim!!

Jackson and daddy with their new tools!

After swimming, the boys decided to give Daddy's car a wash

We then finished our daddy celebration with his favorite dessert...chocolate delight :) We love you daddy!!

This week Jackson had vacation bible school. Because of my work schedule, I was only able to volunteer one day but was so excited that I was able to be his counselor. Here he is singing praises to the Lord!

I just loved how the kids all watched the video and did the moves. It was really sweet to see. I was also super proud of Jackson because several other counselors came up to me and told me how well behaved he is :)

The 3 Muskateers. These boys were super excited to be in the same group with eachother!

Love their concentration!

Because I volunteered, Beckett was able to do a miniVBS. Here they are posing with their crosses they made

Our garden is doing great so far this year! We have had 3 huge cucumers, 2 meals of green beans, and a purple bell pepper. Jackson was so excited and couldn't wait to eat his cucumber!

Silly boys

Swim lessons with Billy! The boys are doing great and LOVE Billy!

So far this summer couldn't be any better! We have 2 big trips coming up with Kiawah for the 4th and Chicago to see my sisters the end of July. We can't wait!!

Summer Summer Summmer Time!

Summer time is under way which means lots of fun camps for Jackson! His first camp was baseball camp. We did this same camp during spring break and Jackson loved it so much, we decided to try a week in the summer. Jackson had just as much fun as he did in the spring. I was a little worried because it is 3 full hours playing outside in the heat, but Jackson did great! Beckett and I were able to watch him on Wednesday, which he was very excited about! Here they are getting ready to warm up.

Slide shuffles

Stretching out those quads. He has pretty good balance!

Time for some catch. I am amazed at how much better Jackson is at catching and throwing. Daddy and Jackson can now go outside after work and throw a couple of balls!

Jackson loves to go to the batting cages!

At the end of the day, they do a little scrimmage. Jackson played in the pitcher's position and did AWESOME! He payed attention the entire time, ran after every ball, and made a couple of outs. So proud of him!

Beckett LOVES his big brother so much and can't wait until he can get out there and play with him! Jackson also finished his first week at Walker Mad Scientist Camp. This was Jackson's first all day camp and was from 8am-3pm. He had to eat lunch there and even lay down everyday for "rest". I thought it would be a good exposure so he could see what it is going to be like next year when he is in Kidergarten all day.Since Jackson has never eaten lunch at school, I decided to leave him a little note in his lunch box. He loved the note, but asked if the next note could be in rainbow colors and if the smiley face could have a head and not just eyes, ears, and a mouth. Too funny!! I was nervous he was going to be too tired, but he LOVED it. Mr. Llopart, who runs the summer camps, is amazing. He would tweet different photos of the kids all day and Jackson had the best time. He loved every part of it except for rest time :)He is looking forward to his next Walker camp in July, which is space camp!

Not having to get up early for school has been a treat in this house! The kids sleep until 8:00 or even 8:30 and come downstairs for their breakfast in bed :)

We have spent so much time swimming in our pool that I really don't know how we ever survived summers without one!

Jackson is swimming like a fish, but since we were starting private swim lessions for Beckett, we decided to get a small group of boys and have a semiprivate lesson where they could learn all the strokes and really become strong swimmers.

Billy our swim teacher! Billy is a master swim instructor and used to be the director of Aqua Tots before he started working for our trainer and his brother-in-law, BJ. Beckett had his first lesson with him and did great!

He only cried for alittle bit whenever he had to float on his back. I was so impressed with how well he would follow directions and do what Billy told him to do. Hopefully, we will be swimming without a floatie by the end of the summer!

Other big changes for Beckett is that we have transferred from the crib to the toddler bed. Beckett could easily climb out of his crib and was waking up very little and running into Jackson's room. The first day it was 6:45 am, then it was 6 am, then it was 5:45 amd and then it was 5 am! We decided it was time to covert and switch his door handle around and lock him in, so that if he did wake up, I could get him before he woke his brother up.  For whatever reason, he didn't get out his bed or cry at all! So much easier than his brother's transition!!

Jackson decided he wanted to take a rest with Beckett, so he brought his pillow and blankets and snuggled up in his chair. Jackson cannot wait for Beckett to be in a big boy bed and be able to sleep with him in his room!

Summer also means lots of popsicles! Which flavor do you think is this guy's favorite?

Brothers! They are so sweet with eachother and just love eachother so much. They get along so well right now and just love to play with eachother. I know it probably won't always be this way, but right now it is super sweet!
