Jackson's World

I can't believe we are only 1 month away from Jackson's 2nd birthday! I thought I would use this blog post to update on Jackson's development. Jackson is finally staying in his room and sleeping through the night in his toddler bed. It was a challenge because he would get up multiple times and come in our room. He continues to expand his vocabularly and puts 3 and 4 word sentences together. Some of my favorites are "I don't know" which he says shrugging his shoulders and pronating his hands, "What is that?", which he says multiple times a day and the never ending MINE, and finally "Big (insert color) truck!" whenever he sees a truck. He knows all of his colors and animals. He used to call all animals by the sound they made, but now he will actually say the name of the animal. He is doing great at preschool with zero crying! He has a best friend there named Drew, which I think is so sweet. Everyday at the end of school, he gets a stamp on his hand. When I pick him up, that is the first thing he shows me. He loves his stamp! He still loves trains and gets very excited when he hears airplanes in the sky. We are traveling to Dallas for Thanksgiving and I can't wait to see his expression when we are actually in an airplane! This first picture was too funny! I was cleaning my car, which tends to get very messy with a toddler, and I looked over and Jackson had grabbed his booster chair and put it in the front seat andsat in it all by himself. I guess he liked the boosted veiw better!
Can you guys just make a decision? Our basement is almost complete, so we have been furniture shopping.
Happy Birthday Daddy! Mary and Jackson helping blow out the candles.
I love icing!
Do I have any icing on my face?
Pretty flowers. I love it when I can capture a picture with Jackson's sweet smile!!
Go Kell! Jackson loves to go to football games on Friday nights to cheer on his buddy Taylor. They are undefeated so far this year. Good job Taylor!!
I love my concrete pad! Thanks daddy for going through all the trouble to make sure I have a safe place to play!!
Jackson loves music! Making some music with daddy at the Children's Museum.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I knew when I married Greg that he would be a great husband and father, but little did I know that great wouldn't even come close to describing how amazing he is. Greg really is the best daddy any little boy could ask for. He is loving, patient, and always making Jackson laugh! In fact, he got the very first giggle out of Jackson with a carrot of all things!Jackson loves his daddy so much that as soon as he hears the door open, he runs to him screaming. Today is Greg's 35th birthday and since Jackson can't quite tell him yet how much he loves him, I thought I would let the blog do it for him. I went through and picked some of my favorite Jackson/Daddy moments. Enjoy! This first picture is when Jackson was only a couple of days old. They both look very comfortable!

Showing Jackson his first snow!
Jackson loved to touch Daddy's beard.
 Teaching him how to stand.
 First bounce house.
Making a game out of box.
Teaching him how to walk.
 First Halloween!
 Hanging out at the beach.
Walking on Easter Day.
 Story Time!
We both love you so much and hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We had the best Halloween this year!  It actually started  last weekend with trunk or treating at our Church. Jackson and his buddy Nathaniel were the politically themed elephant and donkey for Vote Trick and Vote Treat. Just like every good political candidate, it  included supporters wearing buttons, a platform displaying their issues, and a decorated wagon. Thanks for all your help Glo! Halloween started with carving pumpkins, then a Halloween parade and costume contest where Jackson and Nathaniel won most creative costume, and ended with trick or treating. We went with Jackson's buddies Aidan and Payton and it didn't take long for Jackson to figure out what was going on. He finally got what trick or treating meant and proudly said it at each door. For the majority of houses, we even got a thank you out of him. We had planned on only doing a couple of houses, but Jackson kept saying "More Candy", so we did quite a few! This was the first holiday that I really felt like we celebrated with Jackson and he understood what was going on. It was so much fun!!

Trunk or Treat at the Church. A bunch of people from the church park their cars and open up their trunks to  trick or treat.
 Vote Trick Vote Treat!
The only way we could keep them in the wagon was with bribery. Jackson had a lot of candy that day!
Carving his first pumpkin! He would scoop out the guts and throw it on the newspaper like a pro.
 Hey! It's ELMO!
 Elmo!!!
 The trick or treating crew!
Hey Mom! Did you know they were giving out candy?
Happy Halloween!
